Toni M. McDonough, P.E., S.E. – President
Toni is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and is a professional engineer in Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Utah. She has 24 years of engineering experience starting as a Plant Engineer and continuing as a Structural designer and Project Engineer at two consulting firms prior to founding McDonough Engineering which has grown and developed into McDonough-Whitlow, P.C.
G. William Whitlow, P.E. – Vice President
Bill became a licensed professional engineer in Illinois in 2000. Prior to joining McDonough Engineering in 1997, Bill worked 18 years for a consulting engineering firm where he gained experience in municipal engineering, civil engineering, HVAC and plumbing and electrical system design and acted as project manager upon obtaining his degree in mechanical engineering in 1995. Currently Bill’s role at McDonough-Whitlow, P.C. includes project management of mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering projects as well as coordinating the technical staffing of projects in the office.
Tony Hard, P.L.S. – Vice President
Tony has 31 years of experience in land surveying. He joined McDonough-Whitlow in 2000 and is responsible for production of all survey work in the office. His experience includes boundary surveys, route surveys, site development & topographic surveys, productions of plats and plans, and construction layout.
Kenneth C. McDonough, P.E., S.E.
Ken has 28 years experience in structural engineering. He joined McDonough-Whitlow in 1998 and provides design and project management for structural and civil projects. He also oversees the work of engineering interns. His background includes 8 years as a structural designer and eventual partner of a structural engineering consulting firm and 11 years as a county engineer. Ken is our key engineer for forensic structural engineering due to his unique aptitude and background in rehabilitation and bridge inspection.
Support Staff:
McDonough-Whitlow, P.C. has a support staff of eleven personnel. Aiding our Licensed Engineers is one Staff Engineer, an engineering intern who graduated with concentrations in Civil and Structural Engineering. Our Licensed Land Surveyor is assisted by one Survey Intern with a Bachelors Degree in Technical Resource Management specializing in surveying, and three Survey Technicians with Associate Degrees in Civil Engineering Technology concentrating in Land Surveying. The technicians have interned 15 months with the Illinois Department of Transportation and are certified in nuclear density, concrete and asphalt testing.
Four CAD Technicians are responsible for producing all drafting in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and GEOPAK; cataloguing and archiving drawings; electronically transferring information; aiding Engineers in data collection and providing additional field support for land surveying. The CAD Technician’s knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines aids in quality control and interdisciplinary coordination.
Our administrative staff has experience in producing specifications, reports, correspondence, payroll and accounting. Responsibilities include accurate document preparation, reproduction, distribution and accounting. Tasks are accomplished utilizing Microsoft Suite, Corel and QuickBooks Pro software. Knowledge of differing client requirements aids Engineers in quality control of all documentation. Illinois Department of Transportation accounting standards are utilized.
